Hi, I'm a US citizen and petitioner for my wife's application. Here is my situation, my marriage certificate has a stamp dated 3 days after the actual marriage written in the original certificate; when I took it for translation in the Embassy in the US, they put in the date of the stamp and not the written marriage date, someone told me it's fine just put the date in the translation and I just filed the I-130 with the date in the translation. the I-130 has been approved and my wife will be going to the interview soon; should we translate the certificate with the correct date and let the Embassy know at the interview of the mistake? or just say the stamp date when asked for the marriage date(as stated in the translation and applications)?

I will appreciate your inputs and advice!

You said your wife is going to Interview soon & the I-130 already approved and she is scheduled for Interview. Also mean that you already send the original certificate of marriage along with the translation to NVC with the IV-packet. So I will say the only thing they will need is the right date of marriage and not the stamped one it is weird that u are having that kind of issue because mine wasn't. So just to be safe ask your wife to go to a translator in Morocco and translate the marriage certificate stating when the marraige happened & he doesn't need to care of the stamped date. Good luck

your wife should be able to explain the 3 day discrepancy at the interview, but what date did she put in, in the ds-230?

Thanks! but should she mention it or just let it go? we are afraid they may make big deal of it and delay the visa process if we let them know, especially all applications have the wrong date.

Thanks for the advice! all applications have the wrong date; I'm afraid if she went ahead and let them know, they may delay the process.

It is a little complicated, I didn't know you are having the wrong dates in all documents. But if your case already approved just make sure she brings with her a new translated marriage certificate at the day of the Interview and if she is asked she can give it to them & say it was a mistake that noone pay attention to it. This is the truth you are telling us too. I hope you won't have any problem & everyhing goes smooth. Good luck
