This can be problematic though. Yes, English is the predominant language in the US. But English proficiency is not required to get a visa, at all. This is likely a challenging, intricate consulate, and some information might be lost in translation to English for the beneficiaries. Rules are rules, and are in place for good reason, but at the same time the website is supposed to help people who need assistance with a difficult process. The thread is long, and has been viewed a lot. Obviously those participating are committed to it. It seems unfortunate at the same time to possibly leave someone out who needs help from this thread because their English isn't great.

As this thread does relate to the CR-1 process and Site Administration wishes to keep all immigration process related posts together I am moving this thread back to the CR-1/IR-1 forum.

I will remind everyone that English only is to be used in the forums outside of the Regional Forums. This has nothing to do with prejudice or racism but is a purely practical requirement as English is the one language everyone in the US is supposed to have in common - and this is a forum for immigration to the US. Even though this thread is about a Consulate in Yemen, it is located in the Immigration forums and as such, needs to abide by the English only requirement. If you absolutely have to post in another language then you need to be the one to provide the translation into English, whether you are using Google Translate, or not.

While this is the internet, this is also a privately owned website and is governed by the rules set out by Site Administration. Site Administration has determined that English is the language of use on these forums except for the Regional forums where other languages are allowed. When you became a member of Visa Journey you agreed to abide by those rules, accepting that if you did not there would be consequences. Consequences include moving threads, removing posts and suspending accounts depending on the most appropriate action.

I will be editing the Arabic posts to provide a translation via Google Translate for these posts, but am posting the official warning that any further posts made in a language other than English and for which no translation has been provided, will be removed.

Thank you for being so respectful and understanding.

IMO this thread should have been in the MENA forum a long time ago. Because all of us, regardless of what petition or visa we file for, have to deal with the same stupid bullsh*t with the world's worst US Embassy. Lucky us.

PEOPLE its ok. arabic or english.

THANK you antisar.

as stated by the lead mod in an earlier post, english only outside of the regional forums. further posts in other than english will lead to those posts being removed and the possibility of a thread ban for failing to heed moderation direction.

the below link is the regional forum for mena (middle east/north africa), where members may post in other than english.
