Does a K-1 visa beneficiary need to have a passport in order for me to file the I-129F petition to get things started on her behalf? I realize of course she will need one by the time the interview takes place in her home country which is the Dominican Republic...assuming all goes as planned. Thanks

YES, she will need her passport in all transaction that she will do. Medical, interview, seminar. :)

and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways submit to Him,
and He will make your paths straight.

No, she will not need a passport for you to file the petition. She will only need it at the last stage of the visa process.
