I did my biometrics earlier this month. I got a letter today from USCIS saying that my fingerprints were unable to be processed and that I have to go again to get them redone. I'm not happy as the place I need to go to is far from where I live.

Has this happened to anyone and does this delay my AP?

My wife has never, ever successfully passed biometrics. She did it (5) times in AOS and ROC and came back rejected every time.

I'm tellin you - our homeland security personell are some crack lawmen LOL. They can't take a readable set of prints from someone who comes in voluntarily and lays them carefully on the reader. I'm just happy they aren't out investigating crimes or doing anything critical to the security of the country.

When I got them done, the woman who did it repeatedly fingerprinted me (it seemed to take longer than the other people) and I saw a 'denied' message on the computer. She eventually let me go. I wonder if there's anything I can do (my hands weren't dirty, lotioned or anything) or if it was their own error, either with the person taking it or the system.

Either way, I'm not pleased I have to go back but I'm worried I'll run into the same problem again.

Somewhat unrelated but when I try to put my AOS/EAD/AP receipt numbers into the USCIS system, it says it can't find it so I can't track my process. I read online that it appears after your biometrics? Is this the reason? I'm just afraid there's something wrong with my application.

Usually if your fingerprints cannot be successfully captured twice in a row then they will simply RFE you for a police certificate from the jurisdictions of all the addresses you have lived for the previous five years.

Happened to me. I drove three hours, one way, to a different state, twice, for biometrics. The second set were apparently acceptable, as I did get my 10 year card.

Get some Corn Husker's lotion, I read here it helps, so I went to Walmart and bought a bottle. Whether or not that was why the second set went through, I cannot say.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Freem,

I applied for AOS back in July, had my biometrics done in August, got my EAD/AP card in September and I still cannot see what the status of my AOS application is on line anywhere. It comes up with the message that says Your case cannot be found at this time. I usually call and ask to speak to a Tier 2 person to get an update on my case. If your receipt number says MSC on it, you are being processed at the NBC (National Benefits Center). From what I have read for most of us being processed there, only 1 or 2 can actually see their case status online. If you had your biometrics done, chances are that you are in the system but if you call USCIS, the first person that you speak to will not be able to give you any info. They will get the same message that you do when you go online to look at your case status. Ask to be transferred to an IO (Immigration Officer)or Tier 2 person. They have more access to the system than the first person that you will talk to and can give you a better idea of where your case is at.

Hope this helps you out.

Hope that this helps.
