Hi,

I'm brazilian and me and my fiancee are trying to get the K1 visa. We are in this process now for 1 month only (at least 5 more to go).

The only problem is that I don`t have the tourism visa B1/B2 (we met each other while I was living in US with a J1 visa, that dont work anymore because the DS probably was cancelled).

While we wait for this long process he is making some trips to Brazil, but I was wondering if I could try to get a B1/B2 visa too.

Do you think it might have a problem try to get the B1/B2 visa while I already started the process for the K1?

Thank you

Sure, it's possible; but the chances of having that B2 granted, while a K1 is being processed, are slim to none.

Having a pending petition shows intent to immigrate; which is exactly the thing they are trying to avoid when they grant B2 visas.

Can you try? Of course you can! yes.gif

Is there a BIG chance you'll get denied? Yes, there is yes.gif

Will they refund the fee for the B2? No, they won't no0pb.gif

Will a B2 denial have any impact on the K1? No, it won't no0pb.gif
