When I went through with the visa interview for my fiance, my tax return didn't show that I made enough money. I was way below according to the tax return... that is why they ask for the last 6 months of paycheck stubs, a letter from your bank, last 3 months of bank statements and a letter from the sponsor's employer stating how much he makes... His tax return shouldn't make a difference. We were approved and there was no questions about the $$. We were not through the same country as you are filing but I wouldn't think that should make much of a difference with this topic. Good luck!

BTW, I made plenty at the time of interview... it just wasn't reflected in the tax returns.

Get a letter from the employer stating annual salary, employ-ability etc and take it with you to the interview.

if you'd like an earlier interview, get online, cancel the one you have, and try for an earlier interview date.
