buddy you are trying to migrate from Iran. that alone should explain alot about what the hold up is yes? Thats just how things are. try and remain patient.

I think you are right! However, I have spoken to many people (lawyers, etc.) and they say it has nothing to do with where my wife comes from, which is hard to believe. They say this will be a factor in the next step (NVC).

If you say I should contact my state senior senator, that is NOT the person in the house of representatives so I think you actually made it more confusing by stating that. You would instead say I need to contact my congressional district representative.

I would say that if I wanted to suggest you contact your Congressional Rep. I didn't suggest that. I suggested contacting the Senior US Senator from the State. For Illinois, yes, that's ####### Durban. For me, in Texas, it's currently Kay Bailey Hutchison but I wouldn't suggest a Texan contact her, as she is retiring. Instead, I would suggest contacting the junior senator John Cornyn, who will become the senior senator next year.

I made a specific suggestion, not a general suggestion to "contact your congressman". Senior Senator is generally going to be the most effective, as long as they aren't retiring this year.

You are just royally confusing me because in one post you say to contact your senator, then in another you say to to contact the congressman, unless you were just trying to state that by OTHERS suggesting you contact a congressman, THEY are stating you should contact the congressional district representative, in which case that makes a lot more sense! Either way, I have officially had my history lesson for the year and should I encounter an issues 6 months from now, I personally think I will contact Mister ####### because he's some fancy pants man in the senate

I get that YOU are confused. Don't lay that on me. This was a "civics" lesson, not a history lesson.

Hello Everyone,

Our NOA1 receipt date was 4/24/12. Last week I did a Service Request and today I got a response: It say: "Based on your request we researched the status of this case. We are actively processing this case. However, we have to perform additional review on this case and this has caused a longer processing time. If you do not receive a decision or other notice of action from us within 6 months of this letter, please contact customer service at the number provided below."

What does this mean?! What Should we do! Please help!

Hi Asif,

You can see the info. regarding my case by clicking on my timeline link. Considering you just applied last month, I am surprised that they even answered you and sent you that message. And, yes, I can track my status online.

Are you sure it's the same exact message?

Reza
