I leave for the Philippines tomorrow to make my engagement official! My fiancee knows that I am going to ask her parents permission to marry their daughter BUT she doesn't know I have a ring. Great birthday present for her, huh? I think so! :D

Anyways, I want to thank EVERYBODY that I have been following here on VJ for the past few months. I feel I have a great understanding of this whole K1 process and what needs to be done to make this a success. So, thank you very much.

I plan to bring all the documents she needs to sign for the petition:

- G-325A form to fill out, print and have her sign.

- A letter of intent to print out and have her sign.

- A consent to marry form to have her parents sign and notorize. (I know it's overkill but one post made me think it's a good idea)

I plan to have a LOT of passport photos taken while there, because they are cheap, and bring a couple back with me for the petition. The rest can be used for her passport, St. Lukes medical, etc.

I also, thanks to some good advice, am going to see if I can get a copy of her BC. This way I can corrent any mistakes ahead of time. Pro-active not reactive!

Is there ANYTHING else that would be a great idea, besides a LOT of pictures together?

Thank you again for all your support!

Thank you again for all your support!

Have a safe flight and enjoy your stay. You should get minimal chance of rain now

That's exactly what I did last month! I did everything except to make sure my fiance has extra copies of her BC. I just read about that a few days ago, so great idea! Just before I made my engagement "speech" I had asked my fiance's brother to hand me the ring I had kept secret, just to get more of her family involved in the plot--heh heh!

Good luck to you both! Hope we all receive our NOA2's soon!

Thank you very much! She is under 25, so I figured better safe then sorry. Last thing I want is an RFE like I read about. I know it was probably a very rare case but I don't want to deal with FedEx anymore then I absolutely have to!

Rossel just tells me it is REALLY hot now. :help:

When I was out there last year working, we went through 3 typhoons. THAT was an experience!

Again, thanks for the advice!

That's awesome! I met my fiancee last year while working in the PI. I became friends with some of her family during that time and they are helping me out with small logistics. It's amazing how happy they are to help

Good luck to you my friend!

:(

I see from your timeline that Mike has his interview coming up on the 19th? Everything worked out with the issues on his medical exam I take it?

I've been crossing my fingers for you for a long time now. I pray things work out for the better this time and you will be with him soon...

Yeah in less than 2 weeks. He should have been here if he went to his Oct 25 interview. Oh well, we moved pass the pain in the rear medical exam (don't get me started on these people now LOL)

Well thanks for the wishes!

Good Luck My Man

I Looooooove my baby Lyn.

Is there ANYTHING else that would be a great idea...?

1. Have a look at her CENOMAR to make sure she's single.

2. Have a look at her NBI clearance to make sure she doesn't have a record.

3. Make copies of everything.

4. Never give away your last copy of anything.

Have a great trip! :star:
