*The Family Rules*

Always tell the truth , Always argue naked,of course not in the childrens presence.and Don't go to bed angry.

Too much t.v is bad, too much reading is good! Family comes first, always be there.

Hands are for hugging not for hitting! Be thankful for what you have.. don't envy others

Have fun, be kind, ask first, no fussing, no whining., Husband adore her always- Wife love him forever

Sing silly, dance crazy, hug often, snuggle daily ,use your manners- Yes, please. No, thank you.

Use nice words, ignore dirty words Share everything except bad ideas

Say your prayers, thank God for this family.

I talked to my wife and she said the best way for transport is by bus or train... It appears that the nearest big city that is near Trostyanets is Luts'k. You may have to take the bus or train there. My wife found a couple bus website lutskexpres.ub.ua, www.autolux.ua and gunsel.com.ua . My wife's sister says you can find tickets for the bus in Terminal B at Borispol Airport. She said just ask. You'll have to ask the bus company for a ticket to Luts'k.

If the bus option at the airport doesn't workout, my wife also says that you can leave the airport and go to the train station and take other smaller buses to Luts'k that are waiting around to take people.

Generally taking a taxi will be ridiculously expensive, especially if they here you speak, and know you're a foreigner (American).

Maybe you can meet your lady in Luts'k and stay in a hotel there. That may be easier for the both of you. Her town appears to be about 20-25 miles away.

Ukraine babes rule!

Consider having her meat you in another, larger city. Even in Kiev. Offer to pay for her train. It will nto cost you any more money and it will save you time which is probably more limited on your part. I met with Alla in Kiev and Odessa (because she was going to tbe there on business trips) more than I met with her in Donetsk.

This! You can rent an apt with washing machine by the day, week or month in the larger cities and do it for cheaper. That and you have stores, restraunts, and night clubs that stay open later and are cheaper by and large.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

This sounds like your first trip to Ukraine. It is probably better to ask her to come to Kiev and you offer to pay for travel, room, etc. If you have to travel by bus or train further east after flying to Ukraine, you will be a prime target for thieves. You will be exhausted, unfamiliar with the language and customs and stick out like a sore thumb. Listen to others and travel safe. If the two of you really hit it off after meeting and you have the time, then have her arrange travel for the two of you to her city. If she is like most Ukrainian women, she will be willing to travel to Kiev to meet, and from that point forward you will probably not have a bad time together. You may be able to get a domestic flight to Sumy, since that seems to be the closest large city near her town. That is another possibility.

Also, if you are not fluent in Russian or Ukrainian, then get yourself a reliable pocket translator. It will be worth the money. The farther east you travel from Kiev, the more Russian is spoken.

Google maps shows more than one village of that name in Ukraine. Do you know which one?

As other's said, if this is your first visit to Ukraine and you are traveling by yourself, it really is best to stick with Kiev.

As other's said, if this is your first visit to Ukraine and you are traveling by yourself, it really is best to stick with Kiev.

With Kiev, you can arrange ahead of time to have an English speaking driver pick you up at the airport and then can pre-arrange for the fully furnished apartment (if first meeting in person plan for two bedrooms or one BR and sleeper-sofa).

This is what Alla and I did and we had a wonderful time. She arrived in Kiev a day earlier than I and was picked up by the driver and both met me at the airport.

Later on after you describe your relationship/plans, I'll tell you about the rose you must give her (if you want to earn tons of points).

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Vika says she thinks it is closer to Lviv than Kiev. You might consider meeting there. Same as posted above - you can find drivers/guides that speak English, etc. Lviv is a bigger city, and a tourist place too - so plenty to do. We stayed at a hotel there instead of an apartment. Happy to share more if you need, but if it is closer she might be more comfortable in Lviv than Kiev.

Getting to Lviv is easy by plane or train. Busses and bogdani (small busses) are cheaper.

There seems to be more than one place with a similar name, but Sumy and Lviv are nowhere close to each other.

Edited to say that Vika found three towns of the name. We probably can't do much more as far as advice without more information.
