I know I'm probably just being really impatient but my case was touched 4 days in a row and now not a single touch for nearly 2 weeks. My husband asked if we should schedule an infopass appointment. I said that I didn't think we had to, since sometimes people don't get touched for a while.. but now I'm wondering, what's the longest you guys have gone without being touched? I assume 2 weeks is perfectly normal, and I'm just going through withdrawl? :P Did any of you call USCIS after 2+ weeks of not being touched? Did it help? Should I just be patient and wait?

It is perfectly normal to be anxious, I went without a touch for over a month, but this is normal. Give it some more time, if you make an infopass now, I believe you'll only waste your time. Be patient, that's the best you can do for now :D

My story:

09/23/2002 - Met Chris online, there was something very special about this guy =0)

07/16/2006 - We got married in Reno, Nevada.

USCIS:

08/13/2006 - Filed for AOS, AP, EAD - they were VERY carefully packaged with a detailed cover sheet on top of each of the forms, just as VJ's instructions recommend. It was A LOT of work, but it did pay off! (we firmly believe this is what sped up our process big time)

08/31/2006 - Biometrics appointment

09/09/2006 - Received my AOS appointment date!

10/26/2006 - EAD touched and AP APPROVED!

10/27/2006 - AOS appointment at 7:30 AM! APPROVED IN EXACTLY 70 DAYS!!!

11/01/2006 - EAD approved

11/02/2006 - Email notification - greencard will be mailed as soon as it is ready! YAY again!

11/02/2006 - Welcome to the United States of America letter in the mail! Almost there! =)

11/06/2006 - EAD card and White card (a.k.a. greencard) arrive in the mail!

Journey Total Duration: 80 days

No, I'm not panicking. At all. My husband thought it might be a problem and I told him I didn't think we had to since I knew sometimes people don't get touched for a while. I assumed 2 weeks was perfectly normal but I was more curious as to how long people have gone without being touched. I wanted to get an idea of how long is normal. I admit I'm going through a little touch withdrawl because it was nice to know someone was at least looking at it. My situation is a little different since I didn't come in on a K1 or K3 so I get a little nervous sometimes when I think about how difficult my case will be but that's all. Thanks to all for their replies!

You're definitely being impatient! The only reason you would have to call the 1800 number or make an infopass is if you case is way past it's due date (I totally blanked, I think it's if your receipt date is 30 days before what the current processing time is). Other than that all they will tell you to do is wait your turn!

Naturalization

It could just be that they have went as far as they can for now ... Who knows the process on how they review the packages ... It could be that your FBI name check hasn't returned yet ...

Just be a little more patient as you recently filed ...

I came here as a visitor from Canada. I didn't have a ny visa or anything as Canadians just cross the border and that's that. So I had no I-94 or anything. I ended up getting married during the 4th month of my visit. We then filed for AOS and are now waiting. You're lucky you didn't get any RFEs or anything! You got approved so quickly too!! Congrats on that :) I will keep you posted. Oh and incase anyone was wondering, my RFE was for my I-94 which I didn't have.. so I wrote a letter explaining that as a Canadian, I didn't get one when I crossed the border and also got an RFE for the I-864 which I know everyone seems to be getting. All is well so far, I hope. They acknowledged that they received the response for our RFEs so I assume our responses were ok... Guess I'll find out sooner or later!! *fingers crossed*

My wife and I waited 7 months from the last "touch" to the time we received our interview notice. It was another three and a half months after that before she got her green card.

It all depends on how fast your local office is processing. You can check the processing dates on the USCIS website to get a rough idea of how long a wait to expect. As of today your local District Office (Baltimore) is processing cases from January 2006, so you probably have a few months wait ahead of you at least.

This may be a stupid question, but how do you see whether your case has been touched? I check my status on the USCIS website, but the message hasn't been updated in months (meanwhile we've had our interview and are awaiting the namecheck). I only assume that there is another way to check for touches?

I check mine on the website too.. every time the date changes.. but there is no status update, that's a touch.. so if you see Last Updated and a new date, but no email or anything or new status change, it's been touched!

Thank you, I didn't realize that is what that date means. This leads to a follow up question: Our interview was on October 11 and the last touch they show is October 7. Isn't this weird? When the rest of you had interviews, did it show a touch on that day or a day closely thereafter?
