Do the same income requirements apply to Form I-134 as to Form I-864? What is the percentage I should look at for the I-134? Is there a separate PDF Poverty Guideline sheet for the I-134? I couldn't find one in the USCIS website... little confused about that. What number should my co-sponsor and I be looking at when filing the K-1?

Appreciate the help and response. blush.gif

The I-134 is typically only 100% but different embassies can request 125% to be shown as even though the K1 is a non-immigrant visa (hence the I-134), it has immigrant intent and requires the I-864 to be filed with AOS once here in the US.

So it's best to make sure you're over 125% just to be safe.

**Edit - here is the site for Morocco: http://morocco.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiance-visas.html it just says "Poverty Income Guidelines" and doesn't specify a % amount so hopefully someone who has gone through there can tell you for sure.

No. The 125 percent of the federal poverty guideline minimum income requirement, the most recent year's tax return, and other requirements only apply when Form I-864 is needed. Applicants presenting Form I-134 will need to show that their U.S. sponsor's income is 100 percent of the federal poverty guideline.

Thank you by looking at the above link; that is where my confusion started. Thanks for the tip! smile.gif

Yeah that's where a lot of people get confused. It's better to assume 125%. As someone said in another thread, Manilla for example requires 125%. Other countries require tax returns, which aren't actually a requirement for the i-134 (per it's instructions) and Australia for example did not get (or ask for) a copy of my (then) fiance's tax return. they got the requirements, bank letter and employer letter and i was approved without issue.
