Dear all VJ members,

I found this forum few days ago via google search. I read many topic abt similar my case.

let me start my story. hope you guys help/suggest me da best and sorry for my bad english hope you guys understand.

I'm bangladeshi citizen living/working in saudi arabia. I came here February 2008

I got married my love who is bangladeshi US citizen. Last august 2012 we went to bangladesh and get married in civil court without family approval. While we got married in that time her age was 17 years 8 month. after spending a month in bangladesh she back to US for her college and I back to my work in Saudi Arabia. Now she want me to live with her, but we don't know how to start processing. I read so many topic in some blog/forum. Many useful things i got. but i think this forum is the best way to get help from each other.

Now I've some question about petition & necessary documents:

1) Married register time she was 17.8 years old. It will be any problem to petition or need any extra documents or parents approval?

2) I've "NIKAH NAMA" from marriage register office & "Marrige Certificate" from civil court (with notary) only this two document right now i've in Bangla my local language. I need any other document for approving this legal marriage?

3) I saw some topic they said police clearance certificate needed? should i get it from saudi police station or i will collect it from bangladesh?

4) Notary: should i put notary seal in all da documents: eg. Nikah Nama (English Copy), Birth Certificate (English Copy), Police Clarence???

5) Where i can get better & faster process to get visa Saudi Arab or Bangladesh?

6) If they call me for interview what should i provide them? If i live saudi arabia?

7) finally if get visa can i go US from Saudi arabia?

In this type of case what are the required documents should i keep in my hand? (list please)

I've 7-8 photograph together in marriage ceremony, bt few people was there only "Kazi" & a "Lawyer" & His wife and kids. Some photograph we took in flight while going together in bangladesh & coming time in airport. Is it enough to prove the relationship/marriage?

She is student so usually she doesn't have tax file. How she can petition for me?

thank you all of VJ member.

Under 18 married will be any problem for us?

if they call for interview they may took my passport?

if they took... how long they can keep it with them?

I just want to make sure later on there won't be any surprise problem!

Thank you rade2rising & kwara4u for great info.

If it is legal to get married under 18 where you got married, then no problem.

Yes, they will take your passport at interview. If you are lucky, you may get it back a week later with the visa in it but as you are a man from a Muslim country, chances are you will get AP (additional processing, ie security checks) after the interview which can last several months.

Bye: Penguin

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

I don;t know the rules on Saudi visas, this website specialises in US visas. I would think there is no way for the Saudi authorities to find out about the marriage/ US visa unless you tell them.

If marriage is not allowed for under 18s in Bangladesh, then it seems you are not legally married, unless you got some sort of excemption? If you are not legally married, you cannot be petitioned for a spousal visa. You could look into the K1 fiance visa, or meet again and get legally married if she is over 18 now.

Not exactly an answer to your question, but as you mention she is in college, and her parents do not know about the marriage, how will she deal with the financial sponsorship requirements?

so far we were thinking doing a joint sponsorship because she doesn't file taxes yet. and we don't think we can meet again. she turns 18 in December and her parents won't allow her to go anywhere by herself. If her parents find out about the marriage they would either force her to get married again with someone they chose (arrange marriage). What do you think would be the best for us now?

You need to find out if your marriage is legal or not. Probably need someone with Bangladeshi law experience for that. If you file for the wrong visa, you will be denied.
