interview, 2-year GC and travel?

hi

i will have my interview for GC (AOS from F1 to married) in 2 weeks, we are planning to go to my country for xmas and it would be cheaper to start buying the tickets than to wait until mid niovember

i know that at this moment people are getting their green card 1 week after their interview. so even if it takes 1 month, i have enough time before travelling.

my question is, with that card i can travel or do i wait for another document? i ask because i am confused by the advance parole document.

i didnt apply for that.

also, people that filed at the same time i did are getting that advance parole (EAD/AP combo) at the samne time that interview, meaning 1 week before GC, so i dont see the point for it.

same question with EAD and GC. i am working under previous EAD , what should i give my employer? GC or new EAD? and if GC allows me to work and travel and is delivered just 1 week after combo, what is the point for EAD and AP?

When you have your green card, you can work and travel without any additional documentation

ok, thanks. I will buy my plane tickets

but it still doesn't make sense why even bother with EAD and AP if those are overruled by GC and both are delivered at the same time

Those are meant to be temporary measures. The GC used to take years. The EAD and AP were a stop gap measure for the time prior to GC approval. Even now, some GCs take around 9 months to be approved. Furthermore, you never can be certain your GC will be approved at interview.
