Bringing Mother and Brother

I'm a US Citizen and also a soldier in the US Army who wants to bring my mother and my half-brother to the US.

I know and I have been told that it's easy to petition my mother but the thing is, I want to bring them

over to the US at the same time. My half-brother is only 16 and has no other guardian other than my mother.

His father abandoned him some years ago.

Is there any way I can petition them both at the same time?

The way to go about it is to first petition the brother, 10 years later as his time for immigrant visa number is approaching (11+ for most countries, 23+ I believe for Philippines), file the petition for the mother. That will get them to the US together.

No other faster way without separation.

ditto

as said, parents are considered immediate relatives, that' why the wait for a visa is a year or less, but siblings aren't and have a long wait.

you don't say what country they are from, but depending on the country, siblings take from 12 to 23 years of waiting. there is no way they can come together.

No. There is no way for you to bring them both over at the same time. However, there is a way to get them both here in 4 years.

A parent is an Immediate Relative, and it takes 1 year to petition for an Immediate Relative. No other person can immigrate with the parent. Only the parent gets a visa.

A brother is not an Immediate Relative, and it takes around 11 years to petition for a brother.

Here is a solution that will quickly get them both here in about 4 years; 1. You petition for mom. 2. She immigrates tot he US and gets a green card. 3. She files for her minor son in the F2a category where it will only take 2-3 years to petition for him. 4. She applies for a re-entry permit which allows her to return home for up to 2 years. She waits with her minor son. 5. SHE MAINTAINS A US DOMICILE (US RESIDENT) while she is away. If she does not maintain a US domicile while she is away, she loses her green card and the petition for her son ends. 6. She returns after 2 years. Hopefully, your brother's case will be current and they can travel together to the US.
