As a kid I loved going trick-or-treating. As an older kid it was fun handing out the candy to trick-or-treaters. And as a parent it was so great to be able to take my own kids out trick-or-treating. Now that my kids are grown and since I live in the countryside where there are no trick-or-treaters, I have nothing to do on Halloween. Except this year I find myself at my mom's house this week, so I will be able to join her in handing out the goodies. I just love seeing the little ones in their fancy costumes.

How do you plan to handle trick or treaters ringing your doorbell?

I dislike Halloween but I can't get myself to "ignore" them when they come by. So I do hand out candy.

Yes we celebrate, because it is the day we first met face to face 3 years ago. (L) Since the children are all home tonight, no going out for an anniversary dinner, so we will stay home and pass out candy together. In our home, Halloween is more romantic than Valentines day! Just being together is celebration enough, any day of the year, holiday or no holiday!
