How do I change the address where my GC will be delivered?

Hi Vj Members!

I just got approved on Oct 15 and is now waiting for my visa packet. Have booked our tickets already and is ready to leave on first week of Nov, my question is on the I-130 we put my husband's mom's address on the part where I want my GC to be delivered which is in CA, now we have found a place in Nevada where we would stay for a year and our point of entry as well. How can I change the address where my GC will be delivered at so my mother-in-law does not need to overnight the welcome letter and GC to our address in Nevada?

if i were u to be on the safe side, i would just let it go to the mother in law address, and have her get it to u, instead of trying to change anything right now

6/29/12 AOS Package mailed Chicago Lockbox

7/01/12 Package delivered

7/09/12 NOA email notification

7/14/12 Received hard copy of NOA in the mail

7/16/12 Received biometric appointment letter for 8/01/12

7/23/12 Successful walk in Biometrics

8/15/12 Received email for interview notice

8/17/12 Received interview notice in the mail

9/10/12 EAD card ordered, (didnt get email or text checked it on USCIS website)

9/18/12 EAD card received in the mail

9/18/12 Interview done, approved on the spot!

9/19/12 Got email that approval notice was mailed out on 9/18/12

9/22/12 Received Approval notice in the mail

9/24/12 Got email that greencard was sent in the mail

9/26/12 Received greencard in the mail, thank you lord!

If you did need to change the delivery address I am sure you could, but after youre finally free of this application process and on the other side now (congratulations by the way!! :) ) to avoid yet more unsightly paperwork - is it feasible your mother in law could just take receipt and forward it on to Nevada for you? I just imagine changing the address may delay things unnecessarily for you?

Just my 2 cents.

If you still want to change the address I'd phone the consulate/embassy ASAP :)

you have a chance to get it changed whilst inside the POE. You must tell the CBP officer that you need to change the address for where the greencard is to be mailed.

IF there is any confused look, ask for the shift supervisor.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
