Hi to all. I am an F2B before but on the process, i got married. I have waited for so long about 8 years. When the filed petition was approved, i emailed NVC informing them that while waiting for my petition to be approved, i got married (unplanned) and they advised me to let my petitioner (my father) to file his naturalization. After my father got naturalized, he then filed us an I-130 (married sons and daughters) last year. My concern is that how long will we have to wait again for us to join our family in the U.S.? I have waited for too long for my Petition (unmarried sons and daughters) and unexpectedly i got married while waiting for it. And now here we are again together with my married sister waiting in vain. Please advise me or inspire me because honestly, i am losing hope.

sorry to be bearer of bad news, but you have to forget the other petition, that was voided when you married and you started all over last year, the wait is around 20 years. for married children of a USC, immigration is working on 1992

here is the visa bulletin for November

hi,

10 years for some, but it all depends on the country of origin. check the visa bulletin, the link that I gave you F3 for Philippines. 1992, for Mexico 1993, around 20 years.

alway check first where are they from

There are different wait times for people from different countries.

The Philippines, Mexico, mainland China, and India has so many people applying that the beneficiaries there have to wait longer than the rest of the world.

Outside of those 4 countries, the wait in the FB3 category is about 10 years. Unfortunately, the wait is 20 years in the FB3 category for Filipinos.

By getting married before your father became a US citizen, you voided the first petition because an LPR can never have an open case for a married son or daughter. You must start your wait from when the new petition was filed by your USC father last year - which means you have to wait another 20 years.

There is still hope for you. Just 20 years left.

Not if you want to come over here with an F-3 visa. Applying to have your case expedited won't help since your priority date is not current. You can always apply for jobs that US needs like Nurses, Programmers. That route is a lot faster if you're not on a spouse, fiancee or minor child of a USC. My siblings are also in the same boat. They would be in their 50s by the time their priority date becomes current so I didn't even bother applying. If I do apply for them, then their chances of being issued non-immigrant visas will be almost zero because their pending immigrant petition would show immigrant intent. They're not desperate to work/live over here though so non-immigrant as they have great jobs in Philippines so non-immigrant visa is the better route.

If your child is interested in nursing or programming then he can apply for a job over here and he can petition you once he becomes a legal citizen. I don't know how old your child is.

You can always try Canada. It's not as strict as US and it's right next to US so you can easily visit your family.

I'm sorry that you have to wait so long. The waiting period that you did for when you were in F2B doesn't carry over to your F3. The fastest route for you was F2B, you only had 4 years left but you have to start over because you got married. At least, you got a husband and a child.

There is nothing you can do about the wait. It's 20 years.

If it's any consolation, you're not alone. I had the same circumstance as you. As of now my total wait has been 24 years, but I just get on with my life. Pursue a good career, raise good children, be a good spouse. Maybe after 20 years you wouldn't even want to live in the US anymore.
