Hi,

I am currently in jaurez with our K-1 fiancee visa interview scheduled tomorrow. I am confused if I need to complete a DS-156 form as well. Going over everything tonight it seems like I might have to as a K-1 visa is non-immigrant visa. Can anyone PLEASE help me out if this is something I need to do before our interview tomorrow. I thought all I needed was a completed DS-260 form which I did several weeks ago. Please reply with any info. What I am reading online is confusing. Thanks - Duncan

Not sure if this is Country specific, but yes.

I would certainly fill one out and take it with you, example form can be found here : http://www.visajourney.com/examples/Form-DS-156.pdf

Good Luck with your interview good.gifgood.gifgood.gif

GrayL,

Thanks for the fast reply, this confirms my thinking. I was confused because the form is title for non-immigrant applicants which I guess a K-1 fiancee visa is until a marriage takes place and the proper forms are filed. Thanks again, going to fill one out now! - Duncan

A K-1 is a non-immigrant visa. Fill out the I-156 and print out two of them. Do not sign them until they tell you to at the consulate. You also need the DS-156K, 2 passport photos and the I-134 affidavit of support and the financial documents that go with it.

Here are the instructions from Juarez: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf
