VSC added another month to processing

I got my NOA1 on June 18 2012 and the online status is still in the Initial Review. I also noticed that the processing time has now gone from 5 months to 6 months. Should I expect another month to be added to my processing time or just the ones that have been received recently?

We were hoping to get the NOA2 by late November or early December.

Thanks

  • 2 months later...

seriously, here is the deal with VSC.....the center is physically located in a remote location that suffered extreme infrastructure damage year last and from which the area has yet to recover....roads, bridges, buildings, the entire area was wrecked.

add to this the fact that the center is overwhelmed and is poorly managed and you end up with slow service.

and, if your case falls into one of the commonly experienced 'black holes' at VSC, then you can expect to wait years, not months, for processing.

the entire operation is a disgrace and needs to be closed down and a new service center opened up in a more urban location where a competent workforce and basic infrastructure/public services exist.

Today is 205 days and waiting for NOA2, no RFE. My senator's office is involved and very helpful but still... I guess they can't speed up the slowness at VSC. At least they have assured me my case is with an adjunctor.

For anyone else still waiting over 6+ months, know there are others out there also waiting... You are not alone.

Not necessarily, we waited the full 60 days the RFE said, and then had to put in a service request. We received NOA2 about 5 days after the service request was filed.

Going on 7 months now. No word. No RFE. No way to find out anything. The government has the dates on the websites set up where they do not have to deal with anything because it is still within "normal processing time". This normal processing timeframe is based on a table of all of the apps that was last updated OCTOBER 30th!!! The uscis page says K1 VSC 5.2 months, the other page says on Oct 30 they were doing app NOA1 date May 28th!! Gives them a loophole from which they do not have to do any work to check on your app when you call them.
