So my husband just got back from his interview and was placed on AP - i guess it wasnt the exact answer i was hoping for but its better than being denied. I just wanted to know from those of you that were on it, still are or your loved one was about how long it took before you heard anything back or got your passport. Anything would be great.

Sorry about the AP, but no one here can give you the exact answer you are looking for. AP can be for any number of things, and everyone's case is different. It could be a week, a month, several months or a year or more. Trying to guess how long it will take will just drive you insane. My husband just received his visa after being in AP 9 weeks. We told ourselves that it would take a long time, we hoped for the best but expected the worse, so when he received his visa after only 9 weeks we were over joyed. My advice is keep yourself busy, try to continue with life as usual and just try to communicate with your husband as much as you can. The internet is a wonderful thing and it is what got us through the entire nightmare. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but unfortunately the only thing you can do at this point is wait, let the embassy do their checks, sit tight and take advantage of skype and webcams. Good luck, it will eventually end!!

Thank you so much - I guess i got a little over excited thinking the possibility of him maybe being here this month that i got let down sort of hard. He keeps telling me to relax but its just kind of a slap in the face and feels so discouraging. But thank you for taking the time to answer back - i really do hope it dosnt take to long. The man doing my husbands interview seemed very pleased with our case, so im hoping it wont take so long. I want him to meet his daughter =/

I understand the feeling 100%, it feels like you've had the wind knocked out of you. It's a horrible feeling when you hear the words" administrative processing", I was at the interview with my husband so I heard the words first hand. The consulate officer was just doing his job, and the checks are out of his control, it is nothing personal. The not knowing when it will end is the worst part. But you will get through it, and your husband will finally be able to meet his daughter. The only real advice I have is just try not to dwell on it or you will be miserable. I know it's easier said than done, but just try to go on with life as usual.

Thats the feeling exactly! And thats alright. I totally agree, i just get sick of the whole not knowing anything game. Im trying to just having his little mini me here is a blessing, but at times a little hard because i want him to see her growing up and all her little things she does. And over a camera it just really isnt the same. Id go there but trying to travel with a 1 month isnt the best idea.

awwwww how cute, a little bitty baby. I don't think with the current unrest in the region you would want to travel with the baby either.

lol she is like a copy and paste of him. Its sort of funny, i just look like the nanny. And i totally agree it makes a lot more sense - and since she isnt old enough for having all her shots, i wouldnt want her to catch anything being so young.

Sorry for the delay in your husband's visa...I'm wondering, what makes the US Embassy place one under AP???

Most all middle eastern men get placed under it, and its basically more backround checking. From what i understand its because there are so many common names in that part of the world they do another check on it. But can take awhile sometimes.

I hope AP goes by speedy for you! And congrats on your baby girl :)

I understand exactly how you feel! I'm pregnant and due at the end of January...and I pray everyday that my hubby gets his visa before then! I'm living in Egypt with him, but I have to leave soon so I can safely travel to the US before our little boy comes. I don't know what I'll do if we have to go through AP...I imagine that was the last thing you wanted to hear when you spoke with him after the interview. Hopefully all will go well, and you'll be hearing from the embassy again soon...Best wishes for a quick and speedy process!
