Hi Everyone,

I am waiting for my K1 visa and will be adjusting my status once I enter the US and get married.

I will have already done my medical in Australia first and I am wondering if someone can tell me what the procedure is for the medical when I am adjusting my status once I am in the US. I know I will need my vaccines for anything I do not have but I would have completed my initial physical and medical here in aus so I am wondering are there any additional blood tests or examinations that I will need to do once adjusting my status or will it just be a matter of getting my immunizations as all tests etc would have been completed?

Thanks in advance.

hi! hope It will be helpful...if your K1...upon arrival here you get married with your fiancee, about the medical you need to get the initial medical you made in australia, It's worksheet, and look for a civil surgeon assigned in the USCIS here in USA, tell to them your fiancee visa they going to fill up the I-693 for you, show your worksheet, they know already what is your lacking, they might give you tv test, physical again,IMR I paid 300dollars depends on the civil surgeon,,after you finished that, they going to give you the close enveloped,,,you include this on your package AOS.GODBLESS & GUDLACK!

No. Another medical exam is not required so long as your K-1 medical was done within a year of filing for AOS. If you have all the required vaccinations at the time of your K-1 medical and they are marked off on your DS-3025, then you can skip the civil surgeon here in the US and just send a copy of your DS-3025 when filing for AOS. If you are missing any vaccinations that you need to get here in the US, then you will need to see a civil surgeon to get page 1 and the vaccinations page of the I-693 filled out. You do not need another medical or additional blood tests, etc. You can find that information in the I-693 instructions.

Great, thanks so much. Do you know or could you direct me to a list of vaccinations I need to have here in Australia?

Thanks so much again.

Yeah your absolutely correct but if your missing vaccine or MMR still you need a civil surgeon to fill out the I-693 upon filing the AOS here in USA...if you will not do that they will going to send you RFE..because mine before is incomplete, I need to go civil surgeon.

The ones required are MMR, Tdap/TD, varicella(unless you already had the chickenpox) and the flu shot(during flu season only: Oct. - Mar.). http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1
