Please has anyone ever been issued a K1 visa to accommodate travel plans over 6 months from the date of the interview? E.g. Interview date is on the 1st of January and proposed travel date is on 30th of August. If after the interview they approve my fiancee for a visa on that day, can they issue her a visa to be valid say from March 1st thru September 1st?

You should ask the Embassy about this.

I agree that you should ask the embassy, however from what I've seen, the validity date of the visa has always started on the date it's issued and expired approximately 6 months later.

Thanks! So can it be issued on a later date after the interview?

You should ask the Embassy about this.

Should we ask before the interview or on the interview date?

I considered rescheduling but the rescheduling may end up being only days or a couple of weeks after the initial date which may not help.

We don't know that. You would need to contact the Embassy.

Ask as soon as possible and present your situation to them. They are the ones who can say YES or NO to something good.gif

I've honestly never seen anyone attempt to have it issued on a later date, so I'm not sure. You'd have to contact the embassy and see what their policies are.
