As the children of an LPR they have to maintain their non-immigrat status at all time. Meaning, since the wait is several years at least, they can't just be here on a tourist visa. They'd need to be here on a student visa or something else. Overstay is not forgiven for family of LPRs. How did you get your visa? How old are the kids? If you obtained it through marriage to a USC and they are under 21 and were under 18 when the marriage took place then your spouse can file for them immediately.

More information please.

How did you get your green card? Who petitioned you?

How old are your kids? Are they married or single? What is their current status in the US?

You filing the I-130s does not give your children any benefits for several years. There is no way for your children to wait in the US without maintaining their legal status. If they stay in the US illegally, it may be problematic to adjust their status.
