Good Afternoon My VJ friends,

I am just curious as to what to expect next? I have now Paid both the the AOS (Affidavit of Support) and the IV fee. I have also sent in my completed AOS packet last week and they have received it. I will forward the IV packet on Monday overnight (Fed Ex). Can anyone advise me what to expect next? How long will it take to hear back from NVC to know what is going on?

I called the NVC today and the Rep was very RUDE to me!! She told me that if I don’t hear from them, I should “ASSUME” that everything is fine and until I return the IV packet and see it has been paid on their website I should not worry about the rest (WTH).. I don’t do well with the unexpected so I try to at least get an idea as to what to expect next.

Thanks & Jah Bless

You should get a case complete by next week, call on Monday to find out, it take about a week to review the packages

So that means they send a letter saying that they sent it to the embassy? Or what is that? I'm really trying to get everything straight too.

Had a rude person too & in addition, they entered my fiance's DOB wrong, then told me that we have to scan & email his passport & birth certificate for them to correct it. HUH? THEY made the mistake! The only source they have for his DOB is the paperwork I SENT THEM, which has the date I gave (both forms). SO I emailed today & attached the scan of the original application packet that they have & asked them to correct it since my baby's work's scanner is not working... argh! So frustrating! They won't give me ANY info, because THEY screwed up!

yeah they can be soooo rude! like they don't get paid to talk to us! gosh! and two different ladies each told me last week RUDELY that stop calling so much i can only get an appointment the second week of the month so after that to stop calling. so then i called nvc again and a different guy so nice told me that this was not true i can get an apt anytime and they are not supossed to tell people that anymore. so i got my apt date the next morning. it's pretty sad when you call the nvc as many times as i have and get a different kind of answer every time. it shouldn't be like that. they should all be on the same page. and whatever happened to customer service? it is our money that we paid for this process that feeds their kids. and 80% of the time.....RUDE PEOPLE . good luck tho

I reported one of the guys when I emailed NVCinquiry@state.gov about the messed up DOB. If they are like every other call center/customer service department, they will look at it & after so many complaints something might get done.

I'm letting people know what happened last night, because it might help some others dealing with NVC.

I emailed the scanned pdf of the original application & also the birth certificate & passport ID page for my man. Called around 9:30 & spoke with a dude who was mumbling so much I could barely understand anything he said. Told him I understand there's going to be a problem with the DOB, but "here's the thing". Told him I emailed everything & since it was THEIR mistake, I'm asking them to take care of it right away. He said wait a week. I laughed & said I want to talk to someone who can ensure I don't have to wait a week for them to correct THEIR mistake. So he put me on hold for several minutes. Came back & said his supervisor was not available. So he emailed her the info.

WITHIN 30 MINUTES I received an email that it was taken care of (10:06p.m. central time). I called back & spoke with a NICE guy who confirmed everything was good & that the DOB problem would not have slowed down the processing.

In addition to making complaints about BAD customer service, I strongly encourage you all to report GOOD agents, since I WAS that good agent (not at NVC, but elsewhere) for many years, and often times those good reports help more than the bad ones.
