13 Days, still no NOA1

Hi, guys! We are K1 visa applicants. My fiance from Kansas MO submitted the I-129F package last September 1. He tracked his check online and see that the check has been cashed so we know immediately that the petition has been opened but what is bothering me right now is that we haven't got our NOA1 yet. I have heard from many K1 applicants that they received their NOA1 in not less that 2 weeks. :(

Also, my fiance is a tour manager. He is gone to do Europe trip for 1 and half months. How could we know that the NOA1 has been delivered in his home mail? Would the USCIS send us an email notifying us that they sent the NOA1? I'm so stressed by this. Please give us your advice. Thank You all and God bless.

Hello Steve & Karla,

I was on the same situation like you guys are. It took about 12 days before we had our NOA1. My fiance mailed our petition Aug. 10 and we didnt hear anything about it til Aug. 22 when he received an email that they have our I-129f packet. We received the NOA1 hardcopy on Aug. 28.

I was worried too during the time that we didnt hear anything or got any notice coz i saw others have their NOA1 after just a few days when they sent it.

So dnt worry too much coz eventually you will get your NOA1.

Did you or your fiance fill out a G-1145. If so you should receive an email and/or text message giving you a NOA1. Although sometimes they make mistakes. I received my NOA1 in the mail exactly 1 week after my check was cashed. Some people wait up to 30 days to receive their NOA1.

The reason you didn't get an email or text is Bc he didn't fill out the form. Ur check was cashed so u r good. That is the first step in the right direction you should receive the NOA1 within 1-2 weeks from when they cashed it. Then they will give you a case number where you can check ur case status at the USCIS website. After the NOA1 settle down for a long wait the average time is 5 months some are slower and some are faster you can submit ur noa1 date and ur service center (either Vermont or California) here on timeline and it will give u an estimate date of when ur noa2 will arrived based on other applications that have been approved.

And don't worry about not hiring a lawyer most of us here on vj haven't used a lawyer we get information from one another ans it works out great that way. :)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).
