No. At least that's what the bank we use told me. No credit is often the same as bad credit though, so you should try to get a secured credit card to establish your credit to start out. Again, that's the advice I got at the bank.

are you sure? i know that the US and Canada use some of the same credit companies such as Equifax and Transunion...would they not share information back and fourth?

No they dont.

We have credit problems in the UK (electricity company made a mistake reading our metres for a whole year and dumped a massive bill on us that we cant pay as well as our other regular ones) which is not our fault, its down to human error on the companies part. We dont even get those red letters because they know its their fault! But it has still caused problems with our credit. Our bank wont give us an overdraft etc.

So there are no bad habits to follow us to the US thankfully! So im really glad somebody elses fail wont follow me.

Most companies don't report across country lines. But the habits that caused the bad credit probably will follow you here.

no, the "habit" you call it certainly has not. prior to moving here i HAD a PAST life in which i made some poor choices. Lucky for me, unlike you i am a positive person and have made some changes. is it possible that you my friend, cannot see the forest through the trees? ;)

as for the credit issue, thank goodness because i have a family i need to look after.
