*** MOving from Bringing Family to CR-1 visa forum, as it sounds like OP is being forced onto that path by NVC like most others ****

There is no way around the affidavit of support. Your wife will need to find a co-sponsor. Who has she asked so far? She needs to cast her net wider- friends, neighbours, far away family, church or mosque friends etc.

Technically, she could sponsor on assets (held by her or jointly), but it would be very suspicious if large sums of money are now suddenly being transfered into her name- it will look like you are buying the visa/ greencard.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Your dad's company counts for nothing, it is not yours and it is abroad. Most embassies will not allow self-sponsorship, so the money would need to be in a joint account with your wife or in her account, and there are issues with that as I explained above. How much gold does your wife has? If she has three times the 125% poverty level for her household, she can sponsor on assets.

Be patient about answers, everyone here are just members, and have lives outside the internet :)

Definitely go for the CR-1. The K3 doesn't give you a ten year greencard, that depends on how long you've been married (must be married longer than 2 years), and with the K3 there are extra fees for filing Adjustment of Status when you get to the US and you cannot work for a few months while that paperwork is processed. With the CR-1, you get an automatic 2 year greencard upon entry to the USA and can travel, get a rivers license, work etc. Then all you need to do is ROC (Remove Conditions) 2 years later.

Follow all steps at the NVC for the CR-1 process and ignore any emails related to the K3.

thx you so much by the way the emapssy send to email for k3 interview and i cant cancel from nvc

If you are receiving emails from the Embassy, that means the NVC no longer has the K3 file and there is nothing they can do. Just ignore any and all correspondence related to the K3 and proceed with the required steps to continue the CR-1 process.
