I received my visa and package from the embassy. I have obviously not opened the package as instructed, however the package does not look very well sealed. It has been sealed with regular sellotape. Im worried it looks sketchy and i'll be blamed for opening it. Has anyone else recieved their package sealed like this? Do I need to contact the embassey?

Thanks!

It should be fine.

BTW after carefully safeguarding the envelope for the entire journey the agent at POE tore it open and handed it back to my husband to take to secondary. It was just the documents we had submitted with the application. It was nothing top secret but if you open the envelope it will be a big issue. It's almost as if it is a test to see if you will follow the rules.

Rob, they don't give you things out of the packet. They check to see if the file is all there and you were properly approved for a visa. Generally it would only be a photocopy of a BC in there anyway, but it remains part of your file.

If you go to a naturalization interview some day, your entire immigration file will be on the desk---I-129F packet, London file, AOS, EAD, AP, removing conditions packet, and N-400 packet. And they review it all, looking for discrepancies or errors that would preclude you from being granted citizenship.

That's interesting to know. What a long journey it is from I-129F to citizenship.

No, like Nickchick explained you don't get anything back. David just happened to see what was in the envelope since they opened it at POE.
