Hey guys! So, we got the DS-230 emailed in and we received a response back stating they received our DS-230 and they will mail my fiance his interview letter in 6-8 weeks.... 6-8 WEEKS???!!! Is that the same response others have gotten? I thought there was a number we could call, Department of State? and they could give us an interview date? I called 202-663-1225, went through almost every option and never could figure out how to speak with someone... Should I just chill out and wait? Will it really be 6-8 weeks before he even gets his interview letter? Or is there another number I should be calling DOS or NVC with?

Once again, THANK YOU!!

I know! I thought it was weird. I specifically wrote in the message to please make all correspondence through email and please reply acceptance of DS-230 with interview date. It was like they were trying to prove a point that they will POSTAL MAIL the interview letter to HIM. Okaaaay....

Well, we never received any of the pkts (3 or 4) by mail. So maybe that had something to do with ours. They sent pkt 3 by email after I sent in the ds230, I then emailed them the next day to see if the appointment had been set, they emailed back within the hour and told me the time and date of the interview. I emailed them a few days later to get pkt 4 (the interview letter) emailed to me because I was afraid it would never show up (needs for medical) and they emailed me that before the close of business that day.

I would email again in a couple days...

Maybe it depends on the mood of the person on email duty.

After 4 days of emailing the DS-230 form, call the U.S. Department of State at (202) 663-1225 to see if an interview date has been set. Press 1 for visa info and then press 0 to speak with an operator. If they have the interview scheduled, then you can email the US Embassy in Jamaica with the interview date information and tell them that you’d like a copy of the interview letter emailed to you so that you can schedule the medical exam. This worked for me. Good luck.

Thanks, I will call them also. I have been getting the runaround with e-mails as well. They said in his e-mail response that they will contact him when an interview has been generated. When I e-mail them they do not respond. Someone else stated that they had specific instructions in their e-mail response of bringing DS-230 to interview, and their letter will be mailed to them.

Part 1 of the DS-230 needs to be signed and emailed or mailed to the US Embassy in Jamaica before an interview date can be set. Then DS-230 part 1 and part 2 needs to be brought to the interview.
