Good morning VJ, I thought I would be proactive and decided to email the DS-3032 to the NVC utilizing the template and I received their auto response. I did email it from my wife's email address. I am wondering if that was the correct thing to do being that I have yet to get invoiced for the IV and the AOS.. Am I going to have to email it again? And how do I confirm that my home consulate participates in electronic processing? I really need some clarification specially on the emailing part.

Thank you in advance...

I would say as long as it takes them to get to your email its safe to say u will be invoiced before they get to the email.

As long as you were able to include your SDO number on the email its fine. You didnt't need to wait. do you have your invoice number? If not call NVc and get it. Its important because if you have to wait for the email with it, it will slow you down.

Thanks to the both of you!

See one thing you will find on VJ is we have an inside track. You will notice when you get your "Pay your AOS fee" and here's your DS-3032 they do not mention email template or even sending the DS-3032 back via email. That's because only we know. They get shocked when we say we sent it and the operators are like "we haven't even sent you the packet yet. " LOL

When you send your email its about 1 week before they even process and 'ACCEPT" it. So by than they have your email addresses in the system and everything matches up. For some reason my email wasn't getting any attention, I was getting edgy after 13 days and nothing so I resend the DS-3032 again and it was accepted 4 hours later. So who knows with NVC what they do in what order. Now just waiting for IV BILL invoice.

Also, to answer your question about electronic filing for DR, sorry to say not yet! You will have to send both AOS packet and IV packet the old fashion way! Make sure to print out and include your cover sheet with barcode after you pay each fee. you will see the button to email yourself a copy to print out and include in the packets.

Ok so if I understand you correctly and to confirm, what I send back to NVC (AOS Packet and the IV along with the Barcoded coversheets) will get forwarded to Santo Domingo? No need for me to mail it to D R..

Must to do NVC Document Intake, and pay fees.

In the end, all of the casefile is forwarded to the IV Unit.

YOU CANNOT SHORTCUT this NVC process unless you seek an expedite at NVC.

Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thank you...

It is supposed to get forwarded to embassy but always make copies of what you send and take to interview. I believe they will return originals at interview which is why they also ask for copies.

Thanks will do..

Darnell, I think you misunderstand "shortcut" for trying to get around the process at the NVC. That's not what the shortcut link is promoting. It simply tells you what to anticipate and what to send when. If you aren't proactive, calling NVC to get embassy number and INN asap, you end up losing time because the email with that info often takes a week or so to receive. Also, if I and many others had not checked the payment portal each day to see when it was ready to accept the payments, if we had waited for the email telling us to make the payment, we would have lost days sometimes another week in the whole process. If I had waited to hear that I had a checklist via email instead of calling and asking if all papers had been complete and accepted again I would have lost days. I think everyone would agree even a day or two saved in every step of the process is well worth it. So, no you can't get "around" the system but you can be proactive and prepared instead of passive and lose even a day or two.. This is just given in my humble experience and the experience of those who shared the info with me and the people I have passed the link onto. Good luck to all.
