Hi I need little help as i am confused with I-864 Affidavit of support form.

I am a US citizen and filed for my wife for spouse of US citizen and i dont have sufficient income for affidavit of support so my parents are going to sponsor my wife.

My question is do i need to fill out I-864 and my parents both need to fill out I-864 separately as joint sponsors or i can send just one I-864 filled out from my parents as they will be the one sponsoring my wife. I am really confused with this .

Can any one please tell me how and what to do in this case and if they would have any sample forms for this type of case ?

thanking you in advance

You complete an I-864 no matter what.

One parent does the I-864, the other parent does an I-864A.

The example form here on VJ should be helpful. The I-864 instructions are also very detailed.

Thanks guys so I will be using only my mom as joint sponsor so I file and I-864 and i send I-864 my mom filling it out seperately right. Even though my mom and dad file and joint tax returns as husband and wife that doesnt matter when i send the photo copies of tax returns as i know hopefully my moms income should be enough for sponsorship .

So the correct procedure from replies you gave me would be i file a I864 form and my mom File a I-864 and send it together right ?

Include mother's W2's, etc. to show only her income from the tax transcript(s).

The first answer you got is the correct one. You are misinterpreting what you read. Bold above is correct.

Correct. You may live in the same house but are not part of the same household unless you are claimed as a dependent on your parent's taxes. Even then, the only way for the head of household to properly account for their household size is an I-864. Your parents don't need to combine their income with yours to qualify. You don't qualify. They do. Follow the advice I gave you.
