Thought this article was interesting....every day Ireland looks like a more attractive option to us! Especally considering we will have been married 2 years next month and STILL have not been called for interview!

Apparently a jobs fair was organized in Manhattan to entice Irish citizens to return to the Irish workforce....it attracted more disenchanted USC's than Irish though. Grass is always greener, huh?

"The jobs fair that Ireland is holding tonight in Midtown Manhattan was envisioned as an invitation home to hard-pressed Irish immigrants living illegally in New York. Instead, to the surprise of organizers, it is mainly American citizens who have shown interest and seem eager for a new career and a new life in Ireland’s booming economy."

It's funny to see how the numbers have turned so much in the last few years......makes me think!

"4,300 Americans immigrated to Ireland in 2005, and 5,000 are projected by the end of this year, Mr. Craig said. Only 1,700 Irish came to America in 2005, and the numbers are expected to dwindle."

The way to find out if you love someone or not, is by talking to them.

The more you talk to them the more you either hate them or love them.

I actually got a leaflet the other day about "job opportunities in Ireland" from a cute redhead in Midtown.

What kind of opportunities!?!?

I would move to Ireland in a heartbeat if I could figure out a reason for someone to hire me. :) I love the Irish! I love Ireland! Sigh...

I didn't really read it - I gave the leaflet to a coworker of mine but it was something

along the lines of

"Tired of your job? Move to Ireland!" :D

I would not want to love in IReland too cold and too many white people.

no thanks..

Ooh scary white people. BOO!

When I was in Dublin, it certainly didn't look just white to me...

It is Ireland's high standard of living, high wage economy and EU membership that attract many migrants from the newest of the European Union countries: Ireland has had a significant number of Romanian immigrants since the 1990s. In recent years, mainland Chinese have been migrating to Ireland in significant numbers. Nigerians, along with people from other African countries have accounted for a large proportion of the non-European Union migrants to Ireland.

Heaven forbid there actually be *gasp!* Irish people in Ireland.....

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

1,700 out of 4,000,000 (0.0425%) Irish vs. 5,000 out of 300,000,000 (0.00167%) Americans.

I think it's the other way around:

5,000 out of 4,000,000 (0.125%) Irish vs. 1,700 out of 300,000,000 (0.000567%) Americans.

The numbers are probably wrong though -- I know more Irish people who immigrated

to America in 2005 - LOL
