Hi all!

We are just about to submit our I-129F form very soon, hopefully tomorrow. I'm suddenly confused about the initial fee and just wanted to check before sending it off.

I found a price of $240.00 quoted here: http://london.usembassy.gov/immigrant-visas/iv_fees.html

and $340.00 quoted here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=b1ae408b1c4b3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=b1ae408b1c4b3210VgnVCM100000b92ca60aRCRD

It seems that the $240 is current but if someone who knows the actual fee for definite and could just let us know that'd be much appreciated.

We are also slightly unsure how to present the package. We have gone through the package checklist as given in the guide and have everything ready. We don't know whether to use binders/plastic wallets etc. What is the most professional presentation? What makes it easiest for the officer checking our case?

How should we ship it? It may become too bulky for the envelope we were intending to use.

Many Thanks!

I-129F Petition for Fiance/e Visa= $340

K-1 Application Fee= $240

You will petition first ($340). This fee is current and listed on the I-129F instructions. If and when petition is approved, the beneficiary can then apply ($240) for the K-1 visa and schedule an interview. When you are ready to apply and schedule for the visa, just check back with the embassy website and/or US DoS to make sure the fee is still current.

The fee stated in the I-129F instructions is the current correct filing fee: $340. Always follow the current form instructions for fees and mailing address.

The $240 visa processing fee found on the London embassy site is current too. That is currently the amount to be paid when the foreign fiance(e) applies for a K-1 visa there.

The $340 I-129F petition filing fee and the $240 visa processing fee are two separate, entirely different fees for different things.

As for how to send your paperwork, simply bind like items together with paperclips and then put one larger binding clip over the whole thing. It will be taken apart and put in their own folders how they prefer them to be when they receive your petition package.

DO NOT BIND THE PETITION. Just try to keep it together so nothing gets lost before reaching USCIS (we punched holes in the top and put in a paper binder) . The filing fee for the petition K1 petition is the $340 you see on uscis. The $240 is the money for the visa that you have to pay before your interview.

I used paper clips and cover sheets to organize each section. I then used a black binder clip to hold it all together, placed in a clear plastic envelope for protection, then placed in a brown packaging envelope and sent away.

Petition fee is $340. Visa fee is differnet and paid at the consulate for the interview.

Presentation does no tmatter. Whatever you send is disassembled and put into their folders and all looks the same after arrival. Get it all inside an envelope and seal it.
