Hey guys,

We received our NOA1's in the mail Tuesday (for EAD and AP). I have been waiting on the biometrics letter, but after seeing other timelines, I noticed it can take a little bit of time for that letter to come in. Today, I was just curious to see what our status was now- I was a bit shocked to see this:

On August 15, 2012, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

On August 15, 2012, the post office returned the notice we last sent you on this case I765 APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT AUTHORIZATION as undeliverable. This may have serious effects on processing this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update your mailing address for this notice to be re-sent.

On July 30, 2012, we received this I131 APPLICATION FOR USCIS TRAVEL DOCUMENT, and mailed you a notice describing how we will process your case.

I am pretty confused? We've already received NOA's in the mail.. which is what I assume they were sending us? Should we try calling that number above to see what's going on?

I've never had any real issues before, and I've combed through other threads quickly without spotting any real solutions. We would appreciate any help yall can offer!!

Yes, that sounds odd. Have you moved? Perhaps it is a simple clerical error? Call the numbers listed and get to the bottom of the mess. Please report back with your (hopeful) good conclusion.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

same thing happened with my husband social security card (the post office returned the first card they sent) so we back to the SS office and they told us to make sure that my husband's name is on the mailbox (for a month or two) and that we should put at least one of the house bill under his name. they said the post office does sometimes send it back when they've never seen that name going to that mail box. especially if it's gov't mail. at the time he'd been at the address for a month.

you should call to make sure they've go the right address too.

People make mistakes... I've had mail get shipped to the wrong zip code, despite having the correct zip code on the package. Instead of correcting the error, they just returned the package. I've even had UPS deliver to the wrong address, and their computer systems even said it was delivered at a different address, but it still slipped through the cracks.

okay! wanted to give you guys an update:

hubby called the USCIS Friday. We moved before we filed AOS, but after the whole K-1 deal. Our current address is extremely temporary, which is why I didn't want to reroute or do a change of address to this address. My husband had a different idea however, and submitted a change of address request. Evidently they only got it for one of the forms, not for the other two. The lady on the phone with USCIS submitted another change of address and put in a support request or whatever on our case. He forgot to ask about the one that came to our apartment which the USCIS says didnt- so, we called back on Saturday. The guy put in another 'request' and said he changed the address for us. We're supposed to wait 15 days to see if we receive the letters now. It's all so confusing since no one at USCIS can see what anyone else does!!

Anyways, late Saturday night we got an email saying we have an RFE. Curious what it is

Thank you for the responses :) I'm not sure how we're supposed to put any bills in his name right now, but we will look into it. The lease is cosigned by him though, I'm the main party.

For future reference, the alien must notify USCIS of their change of address within 10 days of moving. A sponsor must notify USCIS within 30 days of moving.

Hopefully they will send the RFE to the right address. Good luck!

He did actually. So I suppose he did it the correct way, although the government has somehow managed to get things confused.

Thank you!
