Hey ya'll,

I live in North Carolina and I was wondering if the INS will accept a marriage performed by my friend who was ordained on line by the Universal Life Church? NC recognizes ordained ministers, but is it legal enough for visa requirements???

Do you have a marriage certificate and license?

Also I just notice you filed for K-1...thats is for fiance(e)s only. If youre already married you have to file K-3 or CR-1

Yes, we applied for K-1 and have already received packet 3...I am just trying to plan ahead for when he gets here. Justice of the Peace or friend.

Joel and I were married by a friend who is ordained through the Universal Life Church. So far no problems and our AOS case has been transferred to CSC, which is a good thing for us. If you're worried about credentials, then ask your friend for a copy of his/her license.

We were married by a member of the original hells angels and it's legal All they need to be is legally able to perform marriages. As others have said, just check the credentials if you are worried.

The US is a secular country so even if you were married by the devil himself, as long as the devil has the license to administer the oath of marriage, they would recognize the marriage i.e provided NC allows the devil to conduct such marriages..
