Dear Friends,

I am preparing for my interview now adays like documents, photos, evidences etc..just few concerns..

1: if CO will ask me about my any relative lives in US then do you guys should I tell them yes, my own sister lives there with her family they are green card holders so do you guys think it should be OK to mention, I have heard from few people not to tell at the time of interview dnt know why?

2.when i was engaged my husband was not here in Pakistan obviously he was in US and it was only 2 months in between commitment and wedding, infact my husband came here in Pakistan for marriage after 8 years of his last visit in our wedding, so what should I do when they will ask me about our first meeting which is a common question in interview.

Thanks:)

they key part is to be 100% honest during the interview. Explanation to this is quite simple - being caught telling lies will cost you not only your visa, but also will result in life time ban. They do take lying extremely serious. Another thing would be to voluntarily provide information that you are not asked for. Keep it simple. Always be truthful in answering questions be they on paper, or during the interview, and keep the rest to yourself.

So, to your questions:

IF CO asks you about relatives in US - answer yes, because you have them. hint* don't you think that they already know it? If CO doesn't ask about your relatives - don't bring it up. Though don't think it might harm you unless there are some unusual circumstances.

If you are in a bona fide relationship and your marriage happened the way it did - you have to be very precise in describing why/what/how when asked. Don't forget to collect lots of proof to support your story. You might benefit from researching Pakistani forum here on VJ because there are people who are more knowledgeable in customs and traditions of your country. I hope they can give you more solid advice how to prove legitimacy of your marriage in your particular consulate. Good luck!

they will know if you have relatives so just tell them the truth. If they ask how much communication you have with them tell them exactly how much but be brief you dont have to go into huge long detail keep it simple

the main thing is you have a bonafide relationship. Life happens and things change as far as travel plans so just be straight with them about anything with the visits be clear and truthful

Good luck!!!

Fellow VJers, Hope you're doing great!!

Me and my wife don't call each other by phone that much, however we do skype chat alot, so at the interview would that be an issue? Also, in Pakistan the prepaid mobile connections (which I use to call my wife)do not provide you an itemized bill, the only phone bill I will have will be my wife's which is AT&T and has incoming call records as well, will that suffice?

Happy Independence Day in advance!!!

1:Please don't lie about anything. As you have heard from many people, if they catch you lying they could ban you forever.

2: it doesn't matter if you have family here or not. what matter is that you and your husband got into a Legal/Real marriage and it is not a Fake/Sham marriage.

3: you will have to tell them why your husband didn't see you before you got married. You can explain that by talking about arrange marriage, they already know how arrange marriages works in Pakistan, so that shouldn't be a problem. You should take some extra proof that you got married to your husband. I would suggest getting some Affidavits from people who attended your marriage and who can attest you attending it and knowing you and your husband. You can also show them marriage pictures, pictures from other places if you and your husband went somewhere, pictures with you and your family and him and his family in the same picture can also help. If you and your husband visited another country together, you can show that by showing them your passport. try to get phone records, text messaging records showing your phone number and his phone number. try to get Skype records if you used Skype to communicate.

other things that you could have done maybe too late now

.. open a joint bank account, where you can deposit money and you can take it out and use it, it shows that: one, he is supporting you. second, you have co-mingling of fiances with him.

go for honeymoon somewhere and keep those records, like tickets, flyers, and so on.
