oh no...i will ask for service request because i know NOA2 has expiration dates..which is ONLY 4months since they issue the approval..you should try..goodluck!!!!!!!

by the way i got my case# last night 8/01/12

With the 4 month window, does that mean you have to have had to book your interview within that time, or had your interview also in that time?

Also what happens if you run over?

Did u have to call for your case number or do they send you an email?

Generally, NVC sends out a letter and email with your case number. Some prefer to call them and get it ahead of time because NVC can be slow about getting those letters out.

Good question. I am fairly certain that the 4 months window is only for scheduling. Meaning, the interview date doesn't have to be in that window. You can extend the NOA2 is needed.

I honestly do hope that's the case, I can send everything away in September but cant interview till the end of November which would put me 10 days over my 4 months.

Thank you for your help, still not got my head around this whole thing!

No problem. I could very well be wrong though. I would just request an extension rather than risk anything if the interview is going to fall outside the 4 month period of the NOA2. The request shouldn't be any problem to make.

I was going to ask the same question :)

we received our noa2 on 7/27. Today, we received the I-797 notice of action, which I think is the hard copy of noa2 stating that our petition is approved. However, it says "the above petition has been approved and forwarded to the listed consulate." it also states that we should contact the consulate if we have any questions about the visa issuance. It sounds as if they're sending it straight to the consulate.. I guess by forwarding it automatically implies sending it to the NVC first..? Did anyone have the same language on their noa2 hard copy?

Did USCIS tell you to contact NVC? I did a quick search and found this number for calling the NVC 603-334-0700. Is this the number you guys called as well?

Help much appreciated! :)

My NOA2 was approved on 7/24/2012 and was received by NVC on 7/30/2012. I called NVC on 7/31 around 6pm MST to see if they received my case and they said they received it on 7/30/2012 and gave me the case #. My K1 visa is for Jamaica.

Our NOA2 was approved on 7/24/2012 too, I'm a little confused what to do after i get the case number from NVC. Let's keep each other updated.

Your case number is used to schedule an interview and correspond with your embassy. You should be contacting your embassy and/or scheduling your interview depending on how your consulate operates.
