I am gathering all the documents to submit the I-129F and start the K-1 process. I was hoping to get some opinions on if what I have below to "prove we met" is sufficient based on some of your experiences. Unfortunately I did not keep boarding passes and there is no hotel receipt because I stayed with her. But I do plan to include:

-copy of itinerary printed out from the travel site I got my plane tickets from;

-credit card statement where I will highlight the charge that matches up with the cost of the ticket;

-copy of all pages of my passport that show the entry and exit stamps; and

-three pictures we have of us together in country, two by her house, one by a large recognizable landmark from her country.

I have other things to document “proof of relationship” but do you think this is enough to prove we met? I feel bad not keeping my boarding passes but I don’t see how they show anything more than my passport stamps do, that I entered the country. I just wanted to try and include everything I could to avoid an RFE. And also if I did get an RFE, I honestly don’t know what more I could include than this.

I read some people include signed statements from both parties saying they met. Does this actually mean anything to USCIS though?

Think I am including enough? Thanks.

Your passport stamps and maybe the photos of you two together could be used as proof of meeting. The itineraries and the credit card statement don't prove anything, just that you bought the tickets to go---doesn't prove you were actually on that flight.

If you have any ATM or credit card receipts from the times you were there with her, then add those in too.

She was concerned about the money changers in Kiev ripping me off so she paid in local cash she had, then I just gave her USD afterwards :(

Man now I am worried...

I think it's a good idea to still include the itinerary, as the passport stamps will prove the validity of the itinerary, if he entered and exited the country on the same dates as the itinerary shows he should.

At least, that would make sense to me. Not sure about USCIS though. But surely they realize not everyone holds onto their boarding passes, don't they? I'd certainly hope so.

Don't be so worried. I think the passport stamps, itinerary, statement showing you bought the tickets, explanation that you did not think to keep the boarding passes along with the photos of the 2 of you in front of landmarks should be enough to get an approval on the petition. The passport stamps help a great deal.

Statements from you and your fiancee will not help at all, and statements from others that saw you together in person would help more than your own but will still hold very little weight. If you have any emails, snail mails or chat logs that show the two of you discussing your trip and being together right before and after the trip, then toss those in there too. It couldn't hurt.
