Greetings,

Situation: I am a US Citizen, I met my Turkish Fiancee in Italy while I was serving there in the U.S. Military and she was studying. We need to get a police report from Turkey since she lived there for over a year, before her Interview in Turkey with the US Consulate.

Does anybody have a clue how we are suppose to go about this? I have called the Italian Embassy in Washington DC and was basically told to piss off. She has gone to the Italian Embassy in Ankara in person multiple times and they just give her the run around. Any suggestions on how to move forward?

You basically went to the Italian government to request a Turkish police certificate. Kind of like going to the US embassy in Ankara to ask for an Italian police certificate. It won't work.

If you go to the Turkish embassy in Rome or DC, you'll probably have better luck.

Contacting the local or regional police department where she lived in Italy may be a better starting point. Gets you closer to the where the report will be created.
