As the title says. She thought it would be good to go ahead and fill it all out and save it while waiting for the Police Certificate. Went to sign and submit it tonight and couldn't. Tried looking for any problems then saw on the top of the first page the expiration date of 6/30.

Google is producing no results, and no FAQ's answer this. Does anyone here know what will happen and how easy this will be to fix? Can we redo the form or get an extension?

Thank you

Not sure if the expiration date on the form matters.

My opinion is it is the expiration date they have set for your case that matters. Maybe the two dates are not the same.

What I would do if I were you is get the case number then find out the URL of the web page where you can submit a question with your case number.

That way you can ask them directly how long specifically you have and not just assume doom and gloom because of a date on the form.

For China we had 1 year to submit the form DS-230 and OF-169.

Maybe others on this forum can give you a more certain answer and URL.

Best of luck,

This is what it says in the top right corner when filling out the Online Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration Application (DS-260):

"FORM NUMBER: DS-260

EXPIRATION DATE: 06/30/2012

ESTIMATED BURDEN: 120 MIN"

It has only been in the last month that we even paid the fees and everything, so I can't imagine that the entire case is expired. I think the problem is she started filling it out, but once you start apparently it expires soon. Which is fine, as long as we could start it over again or something. There doesn't appear to be any way to do that. Incredibly frustrated.

On the top right corner of the Form DS-230 part 1 that I have, it says:

Expires: 02/29/2012

Estimated Burden: 1 Hour

Then I recently downloaded a new one and it says:

Expires: 06/30/12

Estimated Burden: 1 Hour

I don't think they update the expiration dates for their forms that often. They are quite busy.

If I remember right my attorney told me the expiration date on the form doesn't matter.

But my fiancee will not be submitting the form online, she will send it in using snail mail. Maybe it is a different situation with online form submissions.

A handful of consulates use the CEAC online electronic form. This form must be filled out online and submitted electronically. They aren't printed out and sent to the consulate. The consulate in Montreal is one of the consulates that use the CEAC form.

Alex, look over the saved form carefully and make sure that every field that isn't marked "optional" has been filled out, or the "Does not apply" box has been checked. If you can't find any errors then try filling out a new form from scratch. I don't see anything on the DoS website that indicates that saved forms expire, but it's possible.
