hello.. is it ok to use my passport in my maiden name on the process of CR 1 visa? i was going to renew my passport and found out that i need to attend CFO seminar because my husband is a US citizen. anyone had this experience? did you attend CFO seminar for changing your passport name using your husband's last name? thanks for the help.

yes you need to attend the CFO Seminar for you to be able to change your surname in your passport it is one of the most important requirement in DFA if you want to change your surname on your husbands surname

The visa will be issued in the name in the passport and the green card will be issued with the name on the visa. If you would like to change your name and use it in the US, to prevent more expenses change the passport now

yeah, DFA requires you to attend the CFO seminar ( all those who are married to foreigners) .. i attended the seminar and was able to change my passport in my married name. your visa will be in the name that appears in your passport.. there shouldn't be a problem though...

My passport is still in my maiden name. When I went for my medical they just ask for a copy of my marriage cert to attached to my papers so I can use my married name. I hope the embassy will allow me to do the same though.

i attended the seminar in Cebu.. walked in and came early coz they have limited slots each day..
