Hi ,

I understand I probably posted this few years ago however we are now in the early stages of gathering all the info needed to bring Wael here... we have his passport finally and staring the translations of his birth cert. and the family book... he is only 11 so i am sure i dont need a report saying he is single ....

Does any one know how the process goes.... I see there may a few options ... Do I file for him, Does my husband file for him or the the other option to email the Morccan comsulate for the foward to order ( i think that is the wording )...Should we ask for a appt at the local office ,, seek an attorney..

Thanks for helping ....

You don't need an attorney.

Not sure what you mean with a forwarding order. If you mean a K2 "follow to join", that has to be done within a year of the K1 being issued, and yours has been much longer than that, so this is not an option.

You, as the USC, should file for your minor stepson, it will be much faster than if his dad, who is only a greencard holder, files.

It would be faster for you to file for your stepson as you are a US citizen and your husband is a permanent resident. Immediate relatives of a US citizen (which your stepson qualifies as) do not need to wait for a visa number to become available. Relatives of a permanent resident do have to wait.
