Well VJer's!

After 2 years, you long waited journey to bring my fiance here has come to into full focus! :) This will be my fiance's first time travel out of Manila in her life. She is excited but alittle nervous going through the process of packing, checking in, going through security point and finally passing through the port of entry into USA. I am send this post out to any individual that happens to be leaving from Manila on July 4th to USA. I booked her flight out of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Delta DL630 which departs at 6:30A AM. If I am looking for any person that might be travelling that day so she can have a friendly person or couple to talk to along the way to the USA.

Thanks,

Michael

I have been back and forth to Philippines many times. She will have no problem finding friend on her flight to help her through the process.

Congratulations Michael. Manila airport for Delta is a bit easier now. She will do great. My friend is trying to get his wife back from Manila to Florida as she has been visiting her family since April. His money is tight and he is waiting for commission checks to come in so he has not booked her return yet. He is shooting for getting her her in early July. If he happens to arrange her ticket I will inform you and do an intro if they are on the same flight

Have her arrive early as the line can be long and slow for Delta. I usually gave myself 2 and half hours and needed about 90 mins of it to get to the gate.

Good luck and COngrats.

Did your fiancee get the CFO done and sticker in her passport?

Did the ticket you bought include the EXIT fee (Php 1620 or 1650, never do remember) ? If not she will have to pay that at the airport along with the airport fee (Php 550).

SHe will do fine as the people working for Delta will hand walk her to her seat if she is that scared.... Like people said, get there early and make sure to have all of the proper paperwork and CFO sticker... You can start checking in at 3 hours before, not to the minute but 3 hours is plenty. Their will be people in line, but usually the Nagoya flight leaving at 630am isnt so bad. Its the 750am flight to NRT that can get bad with the late Nagoya flight goer's.. Same line for both flights... No worries in Nagoya as there is no way she can get lost getting to the connection flight.. You didn't say if final was Detroit or I missed it. Detroit is an easy airport to navigate... And like another posted, I would say 85% of the people on that flight will be filipino's.. Plenty to talk to and get a helpful hand.. Congrat's....

Congratulations to both of you!

I have a friend who just went over to fly back with his wife, but they are coming here to Hawaii so will probably take Hawaiian Airlines or Philipppines Airlines (or MAC since he is military).

Fiancee is allowed to fly on a MAC out of Phils to Hawaii? Typically out of here they are chartered using major airlines and I wouldn't think thats possible, just asking?

Congrats. I remember the feeling you are going through. I am excited for you.

If you paid for the plane ticket with a credit card, don't forget to have it validated at your local airport before her flight!!!

Thanks guys for the advice! Yes, she got the CFO sticker 3 weeks ago. Yes, she mentioned about the exit fee of 1600 and terminal fee of 550. I will make sure she has enough money to get through it all. I found out that once she board the flight in Manila, she will not have to leave the plane again until she arrives in Detroit. I sent her sent cellphone that she can use globally and call me. Now, I just have to get her packed properly to pass through security. Her english is not that strong, so I am hope during the next coming days and on the flight over she will have a nice chat with some passengers to help her guide her way through the flight to me!

It has been about a year since I flew that flight. We had to deplane in Nagoya; go through Japanese security, and then replane (same aircraft). Tell her not to get nervous if they ask her to deplane in Japan, (unless they have changed things).

Tell her to try to sleep in the plane so she can get started on beating the jet lag. It sucks when you are adjusting to the country and beating jet lag.
