Different bank? Or same bank? Congrats!!

different.. at first she was just going ahead with opening an account, but then was like, wait a second, why does your SS card say "valid for work only" and i explained, she called her supervisor and what do ya know? he gave her a "go ahead". though this time i had my permit with me for ID along with EAD. She just told me to come in and bring my GC when i have it so that she can update my file. she had me sign a paper called W8, i think? something about me being a non-US citizen. and i made sure that i didn't sign anything that said US citizen or Perm resident. gotta be careful, and read what you sign..

Have you tried BoA? My fiancée added me to her account and BoA offered to set me up my own account, too. I don't have any paperwork as we've only just started the K-1 process (NOA1 only), so no SSN or EAD or anything. They didn't care.

I work at a bank and i realise that when they aren't sure of something they say they cant do it. $20 to hold an account just because you arent a citizen????? that sounds like discrimination not policy. you have a social security number to be able to report your intrest earned that's what they need along with your valid ID's.
