Ouch :(

Mahmoud ended up getting a vaccination he didn't even need (I think the doc was maybe looking to beef up his fee)... but was never asked to provide proof of the ones that were actual requirement, as they are de rigueur in the West Bank school system.

As always, there is considerable variation in how consulates handle things.

Yeah-- because we were hoping what happened to you guys would happen for us. :) I mean it only seems logical, but whatever lol. Logic does not apply! I think it's better to just be prepared for the worst and be excited if you get away with not having to do it. It's like that stupid police certificate-- did you know they never made Ammar hand that stuff in? Also the other forms for the interview-- nope! That stressed us out for a while lol. He went through all this trouble to get one from Syria and didn't even need it.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

I promise I'm not trying to nit pick, just making conversation, but going through a school system in MENA, even on up through higher education, is absolutely no indication that all required vaccines have been done. I look up records for parents of high school kids, college kids, etc who have all kinds of gaps, that should not have been able to advance as far as they've had without someone at school noticing. If it happens here, where there's a lot better medical records keeping, it can sure happen there.

I had considered that too, imagining that is why they had him re-do it.

I realize that. But it's SOP in a lot of consulates.

Oh I was going to say all the schools I've attended (higher ed) just want your MMR and maybe a tetanus (two schools required this, one didn't) vaccine proof. They seemed pretty hell-bent on the MMR though. But as far as the others, it was like "Whatever," and they didn't care. So you could conceivably be completely not vaccinated and just satisfy whatever minimum is at your roadblock. My graduate schools only wanted proof I had a second MMR done, but never asked for records of the first. So for all they knew, it could have been my first.

Can someone who did the medical exam in Morocco talk about their experience & which doctor they would recommended. Some people said that it was a process sometimes takes 2 weeks to get the exam completed or dealing with staff that didn't care. Thank you

I recommend Dr. Ambari. My husband and I had a lot of contact with him throughout our process. I found him to be helpful and professional. Wouldn't recommend the female doctor (Khadija? can't remember her name). I think she's the cheapest, but I still wouldn't recommend her.

What do you mean by she's the cheapest?

For me Dr. Khadija Zirari was the best even my arm got swollen and that's normal thing hahaha and the shots of vaccines didn't hurt me.

My husband called Dr. Zirari's office and her receptionist gave a quote of $4,750 DH. That seems really high. But thank you for your review.

Thanks for the review. Did your husband have problems with the receptionist? I read a review that stated that the receptionist for Dr. Ambari overcharged them then tried to pocket the money. In addition, she scheduled their appointment on one day but gave the doctor another day. Also the other couple stated that they were running all over Casablanca to get lab and test results. Did you have the same experience of having to go to many places for test?
