I can't speak for anyone else, but in my case, USCIS sent in my I-130 petition on 3/22/12 and NVC acknowledged they received it on 4/09/12. So, I would say, it took a little over 2 weeks. I am guessing that your case is normal as well.

Did you use a tracking number to track your package to the NVC?

I hate when stuff like this happens! Everything will work out! Just keep calling the NVC daily to see where your package is. Are you saying that you don't know where your package is? or are you saying that the NVC still hasn't acknowledged that they received it?

Everything will be ok. Just keep calling.

Be patient. It always takes them about one month before it reaches the proper people. And I can tell you that I just received an e mail from the NVC 2 days ago saying that K1 visa applications will take a little longer because of the large amount received recently. The e mail said up to 30 days extra. Also in the future, use FedEx to mail anything to them. This way you can be assured that they received the package. If they allow you to e mail documents, use that feature also. I did not have any problems using e mail or FedEx. Good Luck

Send an email to KingstonIV@state.gov - Be sure to include your case number and EAC number in the subject line. They usually reply the same day and are helpful if you are specific. Good luck!

If you know you have been approved and the embassy has received your packet, see if your finace is able to reach Kingston. They can go to the embassy with the DS-230: Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration and they will make the appointment for you or you can mail the DS-230 to

The mailing address for the U.S. Embassy is:

U.S. Embassy

Consular Section

30 Munroe Road

Kingston 6

Thanks. I feel like I wanna cry every day. I have been doing this long distance thing for 3 years now...and I have been married to my husband for a year and we are still going through this immigration #######! So angry with them.

Both of these stories are distrubing and sad. I feel for you guys. I wish there was something I can say to make this go better for you. :crying::crying:
