Consulate Review: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : July 23, 2012
Embassy Review : We arrived in RJ on sunday and stayed in Ibis Santos Dumont .. it was good hotel and close to the Dr Joaquim and consulate ... On Tuesday we were finally ready to go to consulate with all the documents and got there around 5:30 AM .. waited till 7:05 so they open the door .. went through X ray .. had to fill up some papers and had a pre interview to check the documents, passports, finger prints.. After that we paid the Visa fee R$492,00 and then waited upstairs for the interview ... around 9:00 AM .. The consul called my name .. and we got inside the room .. and the was the easier part ... 3 questions ... Where did you meet him ? When do you intend to marry ? Did you live with him in the US for how long ? ... after that she said .. Im approving your visa .. congratulations .. and we said thank you a lot of times .. and went to pay the Sedex at the post office outside .. We had a good experience ... The consul was very very nice .. she was so polite and calm ..
Rating : Very Good

Embassy Review : Left from Brazil to LAX and had an amazing experience at POE ... I thought I needed to be in the immigration room .. but no .. the officer looked all my documents and explained i needed to marry within 90 days .. so he tooked a picture and got my finger prints ... was fast and easy ... he had some indian accent so was a little hard to understand but all good ... even the costumer`s service were easy and smooth ... glad i had this experience ...
Harassment Level : Low

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
