Hi all,

I tried the search but it came up with an error message :(

I was just wondering how long it took to receive the forms regarding going for medical etc from your embassy after notification of NOA2 approval? I live in the UK and just want to be prepared. If anyone could give me an estimate i'd be most appreciated!

Regards

Well my case they received my noa2 may 1st and my case was complete may 2 so today it has been 3 weeks and still no interview date...they keep saying they schedule interviews the first 2 weeks of each month so really dont know still waiting :(

Hi! I received my NOA2 on May 7. The National Visa Center will take 15 business days to receive the approval from USCIS, issue a case number and forward to the embassy. If you call ahead, you can get the NVC to give you the case number and tell you when they're sending it out. For me, that took 11 calendar days but it can take a month for some people.

Then, it'll probably take a week or so for the embassy in London to send you the "packet 3" letter. For me right now... it's been a little more than two weeks after NOA2 and I have the case number but nothing from the embassy. We're going to wait until we get the letter to book the medical exam.

So, probably a month to get case number and letter is my guess?

Based on the timelines I've seen, it's about 3 months from NOA2 to point of entry in the United States as long as there aren't any administrative processing, etc. issues.

Welcome to the forum.

I can imagine you would get an error message trying to find out that bit of information! There are many variables that can affect the length of time that you are interested in. There are at least 3 government bureaucracies, and a couple of courier companies involved in processing the approved petition from NOA2 to the time when the beneficiary/applicant receives the Packets from the interviewing consulate. Take a look at some VJ members signature timelines for some estimates. Looks like it was about six weeks for us. YMMV

Good luck on your visa journey.

Thankyou very much for your replies that's a great help, it's hard to know how to prepare and also frustrating when you arent given an exact date. Still, it'll be all worth it in the end!

Thanks again!

The advice you give here to the person you quoted is incorrect. That person filed for a spousal visa not a K-1 visa. Your information is correct only for K-1 visa applicants.
