We do have a lawyer working on the case with us, but I think he didn't include proof of a bonafide relationship. If we do get an RFE, how long would it take to get the processing going again? Assuming we get the evidence in ASAP. And if he got married before 18 years of age, and had to get affidavits from his parents in order for it to be a legal marriage, does that count as proof as well since his parents know or does it not count since it's just part of the marriage certificate?

Any decent immigration attorney would know you should include proof of a bona fide marriage with the petition.you really don't need a lawyer for this process..if you follow the guidelines here on VJ you can do it all yourself. Lawyers are a waste of money unless you have a complicated case
