If you move to Ohio you will have to wait 3 extra months to file. It would be faster to stay and file in NY unless you really want the job and can wait extra time to file.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

No matter if you move or not, please turn the damn caps off.

You must show residence for 3 months at the least in the state you claim to reside. If he moves he will have to wait 3 extra months.

Correct? or no.. do they not have to show this?

The others are correct about the 3 months requirement. However, also check how long processing times for each state are. I believe NY has a long waitinglist for citizenship interviews and especially oath ceremonies, so it may not that be that much of a difference.

on that note, not knowing where you are moving to, Cleveland and Columbus have a processing time of about 5 months for the entire process, but cincinnati is backed up to October 29, 2011. So as suggested that you might need to wait 3 months it might just level up. and NYC is set at October 11, 2011. good luck!
